10 Memorial Day Dessert Ideas

1. Home of the Berry 

Use Kebab sticks to slide Blueberry's, Strawberry's, and Marshmallow's.  Arrange sticks in shape of the American Flag. 


2. Flying Colors 

Layer Red Jello and Cool Whip up to 1/2 inch below the glass rim.  Top with one layer of blue jello.  Use cookie cutter in the shape of a star into a thin slice of lemon.  Top rim of glass with lemon shape and serve.

3. Shooting Stars 

Take freshly washed strawberry's and cut the smaller point into an X.  Then open the strawberry and fill it with whip cream. Then Top with a single blueberry and serve.


4. The Better Fruit Cake

Get a large watermelon and cut it into thirds.  Trim the rime off of the round slices.  Layer the slices in order of biggest circle to smallest.  Top with your choice of fruit.

5. Cool Cookies

Option 1: Buy Ice cream bars and dip sides into a pile of red, white, and blue sprinkles. 

Option 2: Break a chocolate graham cracker in half.  Put a scoop of ice cream on one side.  Sprinkle all sides of ice-cream.  Top the parallel side of ice-cream with the other half of the graham cracker. 

6. American Shortcake

Get a large Serving dish. (Works best if tall and slender like shown) Start with a layer of torn up shortcake, move on to a layer of blueberry's, then a layer of cool whip or whip cream.  Then either cheery filling or strawberry pieces.  Repeat.  Top off with chopped strawberry's and blueberry's.

7. Star Power

Bake Sugar cookies ( Here is an easy recipe from { } ) Use a cookie cutter in the shape of a star to shape cookies.  Frost with white frosting (Butterscotch or vanilla flavoring is tasty) Sprinkle red and blue sprinkles on top of cookies.  Let dry, serve.  


8. Red, White, and Berry

Get A Bag of Pretzels.  Dip Pretzels in white hardening frosting. Let dry. Freshly wash Cheery's, Strawberry's, Blueberry's, and Raspberry's.  Layer the Red fruit in between the frosted Pretzels to form an American flag.  Place Blueberry's in a bowl in the top left corner of the platter. 

9.  Yankee Doodle Delights

Use a Chocolate cookie recipe ( provides a tasty recipe for this cookie [ ] )  Add red, white, and blue M&M's to the mixture before baking them.  Bake, cool, serve.

10. Star Spangle Banner Cake

Bake any flavor cake you want.  Or even try a red and white marble cake.  Frost with white frosting, red berry's of your choice, and blueberry's (on the top left corner).
